Hello everyone
I am 10 weeks post op prostate removal.
I knew about going to have E.D. but not prepared for had I would feel when got it.
I will find out Weds if nerve spared but aware wont get an erection in the near future even with medication.
Ive read alot about vaccum pumps high success rate.
Im suffering terrible with insecurity and anxitey due to not giving me wife full penetration sex which she said she needs.
Problem is she came out of menopause last year when for 5 years did not want sex now she is highly sexed and today admitted she wants penetration penis sex all the time.
I fear if I dont she will have an affair and that will be the end of our marraige.
So after all that does using vaccum pump work enough for sex !!!!!!!
Any experinces and advice gladly received
sorry to hear your struggling with ED but it’s very early days post surgery.
. My husband could not have surgery but the treatment HT/RT put price to our sex life . As a wife I am just happy he is with me and we enjoy a different closeness now .
I do hope your wife can support you through your anxieties and insecurities. We attended our local Maggie Centre where you can sit down with a councillor and talk through both your anxieties . You both can have counselling separate or together . We attend together and we both come away feeling we are not alone .
hugs to you both

Hi,
I didn’t understand what was going to happen after my hormone , brachytherapy and radiation treatment . More concerned about my cancer treatment.
But the none erection issues penis and scrotum shrinkage was a surprise to my wife and my self . I am lucky ,I was fairly well endowed . I originally lost 2 inches off my flaccid state and significantly reduced scrotum size.
My penis at the time EHS score was 1. But having purchased an Osbourne Erecaid and a daily 5 mg tablet of Cialis I can now be classed as EHS 2 ( not hard enough yet for sex )
The combined tablet and the pump enables me to be come erect enough ( with the ring ) for sex , my penis remains thick so I find the ring tight . This is a huge step forward for me and my wife . Down side I can only internally ejaculate ( my wife says no mess)
Based on my experience the pump is good . I am a fit and active 78 year old , I currently use my pump 2 hours a day minimum ( while watching TV is a good opportunity) and after some 9 months have regained 3/4 of an inch ( even with my pump induced erection size meant I also lost 2inches )
I hope this helps you? I am not sure if this platform enables you to direct message me if it does please do or anyone else.
The key is the treatment and hopefully cure , but the lack of information and help been disappointing.
Good luck

Hi Robbored4d7417,
Vacuum pumps do work but are a little fiddly to use at first. Equally early tries produce poor erections that can be a little flimsy. Don't give up trying and remember each time you use it things will get stronger. I am 18 months post op but non-nerve sparing so ED is a life sentence, using a pump I am now able to get a useable erection. If you need any advice on using the pump just ask on here. We all know how it is and want to help each other.
However, I also use a hollow dildo and harness especially if there is a need for longer love making. An erection from a pump using a ring can only be used for 30 minutes and then you must get the ring off. Equally, sometimes using a pump spoils the flow where pulling on a dildo is much quicker. We got our hollow dildo and harness off amazon and we did get two dildos. One is about the size I was before PC and the other is a bit larger for fantasy play. We are also loving exploring all the different ways we can make love without penetration. In all honesty we make love more now than we had done for years before PC. We both feel it has been a wake up call and we need to make every day the very best we can and we do!
Hi Robbored apologies for short message before ,sent without finishing. As I said I can see a lot of similarities to my journey.I did read a book called making love again ,by Virgina and Keith Allen. This did help.
With regards the vacuum pump,I use the Osborn Erecaid. It does take time to get used to but I can get an erection with the pump, that is stiff enough for penetrave sex.I also use 5mg Calais per day.
Talking to my wife, about both of our feelings and worries has helped.I am now 8 months post op and it has been a bumpy road, but starting to get us d to the new norm, and still some way to go.
Hope this helps
