It's been a week now since private messaging on the forum has been temporarily disabled. I found that feature very useful and am disheartened it has been taken down. I've had conversations there which helped me, and I hope I helped others. I was in the middle of a conversation with Aboniskin which I am keen to continue but have no private way to do so now.
I did contact the community admin, asking if they can relay my email to him, so we can continue our conversation, which they refused. Their suggestion was we'll have the conversation in public on the forum. In my view (and as I've also replied to them) these are very different conversations, on a private message the conversation can move between topics of mutual interest and you feel more free to express worries and frustrations you may not want to share with an infinite number of anonymous users but feel happy to share with a single anonymous user you feel affinity with.
No posting this in hope it will change things, but more to vent frustration, and apologise to Aboniskin which I have no other way to contact , on our abrupt conversation stop. I hope you've by now received the dates of your radiotherapy.

Hello All
Yes, we have been having some serious IT issues in the last month and the latest casualty is private messaging.
I am on holiday in Turkey at the moment and I missed our monthly Community Champions meeting, however I have requested an update as to when this will be back up and running. Another issue is with new members - you might have noticed they have random letters and numbers after their names!!
It's messing me around too as I have a few folk to reply to and I am still hoping to meet Liz (johnam) in Scotland in a couple of weeks and can't sort that out!
I will keep you all posted as soon as I hear anything.
Best wishes - Brian.

The technical development team are working to restore the private messaging (121) service BUT we have no date yet!
I will keep you posted.
Best wishes - Brian.
