Finding my way around the forum

A bit of a technophobe I find it difficult to navigate around anything that hasn’t been brought down to idiot level.

I started posting about 3 months ago and received great encouragement from other posters with excellent advice about ADT and the worry of starting Radiotherapy.  I’m now 5 months into the ADT which has leveled off but still there with the worst effects being the hot flushes.  On 30th Oct I finished the last of my 20 sessions of RT without any problems other than a little fatigue half way through.

In the phone conversation I had near the end of my RT the oncologist told me there would be no need for a further ADT jab and no more treatment till after my blood test on 23rd Dec then phone call 6th of Jan with resultsPray tone2

This is just a thank you and update to the people who have helped me through this stage because as I mentioned I find it difficult to navigate this site to thank them personally, though I did manage to contact David 2017 and I’m also able to update my bio (Peter r).

best wishes everyone.  Will update in JanThumbsup

  • Good Morning Peter ( )

Well there's plenty of good news in your post:-

    1. Your ability to write and post on the forum is great.

    2. You have been able to update your profile - some folk find it hard to find the chair on the home page.

    But best of all:-

    3. it looks like the ADT and Radiotherapy has worked so that's the best news and we do like posts with good news.

Feel free to drop by anytime and I look forward to your update in early 2025.

    Best wishes - Brian.

  • Many thanks for the reply Brian.  The 3 posters who you mention in your profile are 3 of the posters who also gave me advice. Very grateful to them and to yourself.

    Best wishes.  Peter.

  • Hello Peter ( )

Well, thank you for your reply. We don't do it for the praise or thanks (although it's great when we get feedback), we are all putting something back into a Community that helped us in the past, and we do it because we can. We have all been in that dark place not knowing the next step and know just how it feels.

I hope you don't mind, but I will "Tag"  ,  , and  just to let them know of your appreciation.

    Best wishes - Brian.

  • Hello Peter, thank you for updating us and it’s really good to hear that things have gone so smoothly for you! My husband came off the jabs in May and although much much better, he feels he’s not quite there yet. We were told to expect the effects to continue for a good 6 months and I know for some here it has been longer so it’s time now for a bit of patience with your body Slight smile

I wish you well and do remember we are all here if you wish to chat at any time Blush

  • Many thanks for your reply. Nice to know you’re all there for a chat when I start thinking too much. Full of optimism at the moment but things change. Again, thanks.

    Best wishes. Peter.
