Can anyone advise if a cancer has moved within the prostate what could this mean? It definetly isn’t in lymph nodes so we need to wait for biopsy’s to find out type etc. but consultant said to husband it has moved a bit like from your house to your garage. This is the problem with getting this news over the phone you have no time to ask questions then left lingering.
Hi June
I know it’s Friday, but don’t wait to long, things have a tendency to be put back, has he had any treatment ? Are they certain it’s prostate cancer, biopsies can take a few weeks to come through, sometimes longer, but if you’ve not had a call by Wednesday I would phone again, be a pest but be tactful, they are busy.
Stay safe
Joe
No he just got a call yesterday saying his ct scan was clear but mri definetly shown cancer contained in prostate but it had moved.
he not getting his biopsy’s till 11/3
my husband asked if it could be benign and he said no it is definitely cancer don’t know how they can tell this maybe the ct scan shows more alongside mri. he gets his bone scan on Monday but consultant confident it will be clear.
hecwas told ge will take about 1 week to recover from biopsy’s as we were looking to go away for 1 week but has been advised not too so don’t know what to think as I would imagine biopsy result would take few weeks.
they seem to be rushing everything through.
he did say to him that will discuss possible treatments once biopsy’s been done
Bit strange that one, not heard of cancer moving around, just growing, I would clarify with them , also worth asking about tumour size in mm, that can tell u a fair bit.
Didn't think u could say Def cancer before biopsy but perhaps u can.
Either way, it's good that contained and does make it easier to treat.
Good luck
Steve
Aww I know his secretary just phoned me back saying he can’t call me back as he has spoken to husband and will speak to us both at follow up appointment 16/3.
which I don’t suppose he will have any more information as biopsy on 11/3.
that’s why I wanted to speak to him as my husband wasn’t taking in information well and forgot to ask him how he can be sure it’s cancer.
must be due to seeing mri scan and ct scan.
hecsaid he was saying it’s in house and has moved into the garage but not to the neighbours.
I am reading between the lines and guessing the prostate is the house, possibly the prostate capsule is the garage and the neighbours are the lymph nodes? But I am just speculating.
Even at our first consultation he was pretty much adamant it was cancer just with his psa, DRE and urine symptoms.
but husband did ask him yesterday if could still be benign and he said no it’s cancer.
need trust what he says but yes we are relieved it’s contained.
I know my husband said he just kept on repeating it but would be easier if he explained in technical terms instead of round the houses
not a laughing matter but has just left confusion doesn’t help I have read so much forums but have struggled to work out this description.
so in your experience let’s say it is on gkabdcedge is that classed as locally advanced and would surgery or radio therapy be offered.
My tumour started off at 3mm and increased to 13mm by the time treatment started in 2017.
The tumour had reached the gland edge by then but still classed as Stage T2.
If near the gland edge then could be better off with Radiotherapy to help mop up any stray cells.
Think u need a bit more info before making a decision, IE biopsy results.
Steve
