Can anyone advise if a cancer has moved within the prostate what could this mean? It definetly isn’t in lymph nodes so we need to wait for biopsy’s to find out type etc. but consultant said to husband it has moved a bit like from your house to your garage. This is the problem with getting this news over the phone you have no time to ask questions then left lingering.
Aww right ok thank you. You need to become a consultant.
yeah we do need to wait to see what biopsy’s are and get more information will ask when we getting biopsy’s next week maybe they will have sizes etc and where exactly it is as they have to do the biopsy’s.
thank you so much for your replys
Hi
Have you contact details for the Cancer Nurse Specialists attached to the consultant? In my experience they speak in layman's terms and have time to field questions.
Might be too early but worth a go.
Regards
Stuart
We went private as was going to be quicker which a lot has but half been private half nhs so not been a signed any nurses yet but maybe meed to source our own xx
If its contained but pushing out at the gland edge for me that meant 9 months of Hormone Therapy and 1 month of radiotherapy was better because it actually treated the whole area so if any microscopic cancer cells that would not have been picked up on any scans had already escaped they would be "mopped" up with the Radiotherapy - 6 years on and if any cancer cells had escaped they have been mopped up - of course they may not have escaped but still with undetectable PSA whatever they have done has worked with few and minor side effects. For info I was PSA 13 Gleason 7 (3+4) and staging T2 (possibly 3 because of the tumour pushing out at the back of the prostate) N0M0.
Its the most bizarre description ever - i doubt they learnt that in medical school. Its particularly bad because you can't ask any one else what it means !
Hi - I have been reading your journey so far. I had issues where they were not sure if the little sods had escaped the prostate but in the end they did Radiotherapy to that and my lymph nodes to be sure.
I am now 15 months down the line and am feeling great. Click on the image of the beach to read my full story.
I hope this helps as an example of what can be done.
Best wishes - Brian.
