This is for anyone who can't keep on the topic. It's hard not to stray, but if we have 'no specific topic ' we can't go off topic.
It is good just to be able to wander and talk about other things.
I could have named it 'Waffle'. Then I couldn't go off topic.
Well you are getting there!! It's all for a good cause - it took a full week after the Radiotherapy had been completed and a letter from the hospital for me to have the lightbulb moment and think "I am being cured".
The fatigue caught me out about session 15 and from that point on I was tired all the time - I am an active 67 year old with a full time business, two dogs, a wife, a football club to support and I like the odd pint so had no time to be tired - then a couple of mornings I slept in until gone 9 when the hydraulics woke me. Mrs Millibob said "listen to your body you silly bu**er!! I am still tired all the time now - And don't mention the toilet - it's my best friend. I carry a MacMillan's toilet card and my radar key all the time.
As for the oncologist - what does he know - warmth, sunshine and relaxation are the best medicine going - see how you feel 2 weeks after the treatment and if you are both OK - go for it - don't forget to book an isle seat near the toilet!

Hi WW, the HT I take gives me what I discribe as brain fog, luckerly it comes and goes, and I don't drive on the days I don't feel right, taxis about 30% of travel now, today is a good day
Hi Ulls - enjoy your ‘good day’! I hope you can manage to do something really nice?
what HT drug do you have? My husband is on decaceptyl.
Hi Brian
how do you get the toilet card? Is this valid on an aeroplane - ie when you gotta go, you gotta go and there are queues all down te aisle!
just waiting till the end of radiotherapy and will then look into insurance aspects/ costs. We were told it’s l8kely to be less costly once the radiotherapy is over and done with.
planning a weekend of doing nothing here! While our daughter was taking my husband to the hospital I did all the clean8ng, washing and ironing so very few pressing chores! But - a few weeds appearing in the borders which I might tackle aggressively to get rid of my anger and frustrations!!!! ( ( I find the muckier my hands get the more therapeutic benefit! Must be a peasant at heart!)
Hi WW - The toilet card is from MacMillan's - it's the size of a bank card and just says the holder has cancer and has urgent need for the toilet - can you help please? I had a paper one from Prostate Cancer UK but I was in the Macmillan's "shop"/ information centre at the hospital and the nurse asked if I had one and gave me "a better one"
Not so sure it would work on the aeroplane though. Manchester Airport gave me a sunflower lanyard and told me to use the disabled isle through security - that's when I had the catheter - but I still use it - I might need the toilet in the time it takes to go through security.
It's great you are having help with the transport - my family would do anything for me at the moment and I keep telling them I am not ill. I only used it at Christmas when there was loads of washing up to be done and I said I was exempt as I had "The big C"!!
Enjoy the weekend, crack open the wine and relax.

Hi WW, sorry about the late response, I've been repairing my wind damaged gate, I'm on Decapeptyl and Enzalutamide.
Hi Ulls
Yes - I blame everything on Decapetyl - I only have 4 more 6 monthly injections to go and in 2 years time I will not be able to shout:
IT's ME HORMONES!!

Brian, your paper one was dual purpose...
WW, I got my Macmillan toilet card straight away from the Macmillan section at the hospital. Well, I got 2. It's a great thing to have. There are smaller ones that clip on your keyring.
I only needed to show the card once. People are very understanding, that's what I found.
It was a fellow Prostate Cancer sufferer who showed me his...card.
For peace of mind, it's amazing.
