This is for anyone who can't keep on the topic. It's hard not to stray, but if we have 'no specific topic ' we can't go off topic.
It is good just to be able to wander and talk about other things.
I could have named it 'Waffle'. Then I couldn't go off topic.
Never smoked but I love the smell of a decent pipe or cigar. We had a 'baccy shop in the centre of Oldham and they all had exotic names for the 'baccy. I loved the smell inside.
It was around that time that I found out the "no spitting" sign on the upper deck of a bus was about people and their used chewing 'baccy!!

When I first met my wife I knew straight away I was going to marry her on our engagement party was the first time our parents met, whilst talking about their childhood my mammy said to my future FIL I used to babysit you and play with you elder sister.they lived in the same street and worked in the same pit.
I can always remember the smell of Fish Cakes when I was little, from the local Wet Fish shop in Wallsend. There were always nice displays in the window. Always a massive full Cod with it's mouth open.

It's amazing to read all of these posts. Being just a youngster, of nearly 59.
In the Middle School, we went on day trips to Spittal.
Now, kids fly all over the world. We had a rickety bus to Spittal, sometimes to Beadnel and Seahorses. Saving up pocket money for the slot machines and some Seahorses Chips. Mmm...

Oludeniz. 6 years ago me and Mrs Millibob were looking after her parents (now sadly not with us). It was hard and after 18 months we got a break and I booked a 7 day trip to Turkey - having never been to this part before.
During the week we saw a run down 5 bedroom villa in Ovacik 2 miles from Oludeniz and managed with the aid of tax free cash from my pension fund to buy it for £ 83K. We have put our stamp on it and try and spend at least 15/16 weeks a year there covid permitting. The people/weather/situation is great and there's plenty of history - google the Lycian people!
On topic - Travel insurance for a year for me and Mrss Millibob who has health issues too is over £1K a year and last year was fun travelling through airports with an indwelling catheter!!!
Kind Regards to All - Brian.
