This is for anyone who can't keep on the topic. It's hard not to stray, but if we have 'no specific topic ' we can't go off topic.
It is good just to be able to wander and talk about other things.
I could have named it 'Waffle'. Then I couldn't go off topic.
The Winter Picture Gallery is now live. You might like to have a look. community.macmillan.org.uk/.../winter-picture-festival-2023-highlights
Well done Seamus47 I did see your fern when you first posted it in the winter picture thread. I thought it was rather good then.
Last week the old softies at Milliibob Towers rescued another ex racing Greyhound. This one is 4.5 years old and has been at the rescue centre for over 200 days (he's all black with the odd white fleck). He's called Meenagh Mercury. No wonder he's retired - his racing record wasn't great - but he's turning out to be a cracking dog!!
Kind Regards - Brian.

That's great news from Millibob Towers. Are you keeping his name? Mercury is such a lovely name for a greyhound. If he's all black there's a likelihood of some Head Honcho in his lineage.
Well, yes he's "Mercury" to us. He's been rescued after racing all his life in Ireland. Unlike the last Greyhound we had we don't have any of his papers but we have been able to trace his lineage through some of the racing web pages.
He still has a very high "prey drive" so we are very careful when he's out (muzzled at present) but he's not shown any aggression to other dogs, in fact quite the opposite. He's not keen on cats or squirrels and he has been castrated .One thing we did learn is that whilst in the rescue centre he's been a blood donor and is good at it so we've confirmed he will continue giving blood. Greyhounds are the Universal doner for dogs blood!

I have just had my first delivery of fresh strawberries from the strawberry farm in our village. Breakfast of Greek yogurt, strawberries and a sprinkling of sugar free muesli. Nectar.
Hubbys bloods came back as a mixed bag, creatinine and red bloods down - oh dear but back on Epoetin alpha to correct it, PSA slightly up -third increase since chemo in October so maybe back onto Enzalutamide, cholesterol and triglycerides down - good. So back on the treadmill of more scans and where do we go next. Apart from that hubby is still feeling very good.
Glad to hear that your hubby's still feeling very good, apart from the ups and downs.

I'm so hungry at the thought of these strawberries and Greek Yoghurt!
It sounds like heaven, the perfect place to be while going through all of this PC.
Say Hi from me. You take care of yourself and just be there for him.
