This is for anyone who can't keep on the topic.  It's hard not to stray, but if we have 'no specific topic ' we can't go off topic.

It is good just to be able to wander and talk about other things.

I could have named it 'Waffle'.  Then I couldn't go off topic.

  • Thanks Ulls, It's going up, bit by bit, but very slowly (0.09 to 0.25 in 12 months).  Plenty of wriggle room (hopefully).

  • Loads of time they won't do anything unless it goes up quickly and it doesn't look like it

  • Wow, great news Steve.

  • Steve,

That's magic, I am so pleased for you - low PSA and a year in remission - it's one less thing to worry about.

Sunbed session number 17 today, 5.30 but 45 minuets late and to cap it all the Radiologist has written all over me - blinking heck - if she can't see my Tatts then where is she aiming the treatment???

Still mentally good - tired, and accepted the need to visit the toilet and a regular basis. Roll on Thursday.

  • Hi Steve, I’m not so ahead in the game that I know what figures signify remission or relapse but you sound really pleased and I join in your joy! Well done!  I hope you can breathe a big sigh of relief and have a bit of a celebration!

  • WW,

Thanks, as long as my PSA levels can stay under 2.0 I won't need any further treatment.

I would forgo the Remission if it could reduce others PSA levels.

I wish everyone could be in Remission, but I know that isn't going to happen.

Enough about me.  Your husband starts his Radiotherapy this week.  Hope it goes smoothly for both of you.  It's not painful, but I bet you will feel it more.

After his first one, things will calm down, once he knows what to expect.

    Best of luck.

  • Thank you , Steve.  What surprises me is that before diagnosis and to resist routine PSA testing for men they say that the PSA is not a reliable indicator. Yet, as soon as cancer is diagnosed it seems to become such an important indicator! Do they do repeat scans etc after radiotherapy?  Yes, my husband starts RT on Friday . It should have been Thursday. I feel like absolutely everything is on hold - our lives stopped!

  • Morning WW

Just to echo Steve - You are going into Radiotherapy this week - once session one is over and done and your better half knows the script it will be like shelling peas. It should go to plan and after the first fraction (there's me being technical) it will take a lot of worry off your mind.

Good luck with it later this this week - Brian.

I thought I might have had another scan of some sort before I was told that I was in Remission.  They totally relied on the PSA levels.

I only get my PSA levels done every 6 months now, then have a meeting with the Oncologist (or similar).

That's me after my RT's done - just a PSA test and a meeting every 6 months to see how things are going - my social life has just gone down the drain!!

    Brian.
