This is for anyone who can't keep on the topic.  It's hard not to stray, but if we have 'no specific topic ' we can't go off topic.

It is good just to be able to wander and talk about other things.

I could have named it 'Waffle'.  Then I couldn't go off topic.

  • The list of woke warnings would be longer than the programmes.

Even some good WW2 war films have already been dubbed because of the wokiness... allegedly!

  • Good Afternoon All

Well it's 2026 and it's a New Year. I hope everyone enjoyed the festivities over Christmas and New Year and our Scottish Community Members had a great Hogmanay.

I just want to wish you all the best of health in 2026 and wherever you are on your personal journey I hope everything works out for you. I know for some it's a challenge but remember we are "Stronger Together".

I though I would refresh this thread and hope to hear from anyone with any personal news or who hasn't posted for a while.

Remember it's OUR Community and it's YOU that make it.

    Kind Regards - Brian.

  • Thank you Brian. I hope your own festivities went well.

Wishing everyone in this community a very Happy New Year and all the best for 2026. I know it’s not easy. It’s a tricky time of year for so many, maybe most people…. Try not to dwell on the disappointments - which may also be many. My hope is that, if you can get there, you’ll find a peace in the woodlands, rivers and fields and being by the sea. Our hearts need this more than our minds. And if you’ve got grandchildren (I haven’t) let them help you lighten the load a little. A good chuckle, a great big laugh and a lot of love bring a sort of healing unlike anything else.

Here in Scotland we enjoyed a very wee dram, hubby and I, and a tear was shed. We were alone, just like Christmas, but the highlight was an Clap the dot midnight call from my son and new daughter in law honeymooning in New Zealand. ClapClap

Hugs and all good wishes xx

  • Hi Brian and everyone here,

Hello from a very cold Brighton! We wish you all a better 2026 and I am for one very happy to see the back of 2025!

    lots of love

  • Hi everyone, Happy New Year to you all!

We're on our way to Devon for 10 nights.  Hope we don't get snowed in.  I hope 2026 brings good news to everyone and their families.

  • Liz, we were in Scotland for a few nights just before Christmas, staying at Stonefield Castle in Tarbert.  It was a good little break away.

We drove to Campbeltown.  It was closed...

Scotland is a place we both love to visit, no matter what the weather is like...

  • Maybe next time we can catch up

    xx

  • That's a coincidence Steve, I went to Campbeltown a while ago and it was closed then....

  • Right.

That's Cambeltown crossed off my "To Visit" list.

Have the absolute best New Year possible everyone.

Especially if you live in Cambeltown.
