Here we are then two months ago diagnosed with PC, tomorrow in for surgery ! I am scared stiff. I think i am being a big baby but cant help it. I look at the world and all the little children who are really suffering and feel totally ashamed, but i cant help it . Am in tears so must go. All the best to you all. Pate 53
Hi Pate.
Sorry to hear that you are scared of the surgery. Try to get some sleep tonight and remember that tomorrow is the first day of the rest of your life. The nurses in the hospital will look after you and I'm sure you will be fine.
Good luck.
The worry before hand is always worse than the actual experience. My wife nearly ran away from the hospital once after seeing one lady wheeled in after a procedure she was about to get - she mistakenly took the iodine painted nearly all over this woman's for blood.
All the best to you and as soon as you can let us all know how you are getting on. Sure you will be fine.
Hi Pate
No need for saying sorry about your feelings, everybody has gone through what you have, the surgery has been done by many on here and it’s saved so many lives, you will be in good hands and have great after care, just keep in touch, if there’s anything we can help with we will do our best.
Stay safe
Joe
Looks like i wound myself into a coiled spring for absolutely nothing . Had surgery on Monday home Wednesday everything just fine. Discomfort cotrolled with paracetamal, and the catheter ,the demon to be lived with for 14 days!! Thanks for all your support & the very best to all of you.
Hi pate 53
Well done, we did our best to help calm your nerves, just do what they’ve told you and hopefully in fourteen days you will be fine. Stay safe
Joe
Hi Pate.
Glad that you're home safe and well and good luck over the next couple of weeks until that catheter comes out.
Glad it’s done now pate53. I hope your recovery is steady, you will be glad to see the catheter go but it’s manageable for 14 days.

Sorry to hear about the PC, I had my operation in April, When I woke up post-operation I just could not believe it, absolutely no pain at all, if I did not have the catheter in I would have believed they had done nothing to me. So please if it is the operation that causing you concern do not be concerned you will feel no pain. I went into the hospital Thursday lunchtime and came out the next day at five in the afternoon.
Jan and Pate - so pleased to hear your surgery was not the dreadful experience you imagined. I say that because I am scheduled to have surgery in nine days time - I’m more apprehensive than a nervous wreck, but your experiences do bring me added comfort.
Best of luck with your respective ongoing recoveries.
