Here we are then two months ago diagnosed with PC, tomorrow in for surgery ! I am scared stiff. I think i am being a big baby but cant help it. I look at the world and all the little children who are really suffering and feel totally ashamed, but i cant help it . Am in tears so must go. All the best to you all. Pate 53

Good to know that it all went well. For me the catheter was the worst thing about the whole process. Keep an eye out for urinary infections as they can be pretty nasty.
Good luck.
Hi, Ignore my previous comments,i just let the whole situation take over my life. In hindsight it was totally rediculous. Apart from a very small amount of discomfort everything is fine. Hope this gives you some peace of mind. The last thing i would ever want to do is to cause someone else to worry.
Hi Pate - it was your post op comment which brought me the comfort, as I totally empathise and understand your opening comment. Diagnosis and surgery is a frightening time for us, so I would never criticise you for feeling scared. I’m so glad it wasn’t as bad as expected and thank you for setting my mind at rest.
Glad things went well, as for the catheter, look on the bright side, you don’t need to get up at night .
Good luck Pate
Hope it all goes well for you.

Pate53,
Glad your surgery went well.
It's all of this"fear of the unknown" that gets me all of the time, when afterwards you look back and think "why did I worry?"
Start my Radiation on Tuesday 5th October.
It's good that there are so many people in this community who care.
We all have the one thing in common (doesn't even need a mention).

It’s having a catheter that I’m really not looking forward to. The procedure itself I’m reasonably relaxed about now, certainly having read some of the comments here, which are very reassuring.
Had my pre-op assessment this afternoon, now going to put my feet up and try and relax for the weekend before I arrive at hospital early on Monday.
As I have previously swabbed positive for MRSA I get a side room, but it also means I’m at the bottom of the list on Monday, so it could be a long day. Better take a good book!
Happy Hacker,
Best of luck for Monday.
I honestly don't know how I would feel if I was having a Catheter, hope I never do.
It will be the unknown factor, that's what gets me every time.
