  • I found aberiterone pills completely ok and I had very  few to no side effects. I hope that’s reassuring.

    Take care.

(At the time I took them for 15 months at an age of 58-59)

  • Hello

Here's a link to our advice on Abiraterone - and the possible side effects:

    Abiraterone.

Don't forget not everyone gets all the side effects - you will never know until you have tried it!

    Good luck.

    Best wishes - Brian.

  • My husband is on abiraterone. He does get tired and has had some problems sleeping but has a good quality of life generally. No other side effects as yet. He tends to push through it as much as possible. Everyone is so different so hopefully you too will cope well with it. He is also on the other hormone therapy and has had radiotherapy and brachtherapy so it's hard to say exactly what causes what.

He still goes on a four mile walk every other morning and is still working.

  • Thanks Thumbsup it was the....if this occurs ring 999 phrase!

  • I found Abiraterone significantly increased fatigue compared to prostap alone, but it did a great job in lowering PSA. Lots of naps is the way I handled it!

  • Big Col

15 month into deceptacyl and 10 months of 24 into Abiraterone. I am so strict with my timings and food taking the latter. 7 am the Abiraterone and steroid at 8, sweats about 9:45 am.

However, PSA to undetectable from 49

  • I admit that the side effects and warnings sound scary but my husband didn't experience any noticeable side effects and it reduced his PSA. He was carefully monitored for the first 2 months in case of liver/kidney problems but was okay. He took a steroid with it so was prescribed Omeprazole to protect his stomach.

  • I have been on aberaterone for over 5 years I have had little side effects apart from some tiredness . I was told by my medical team I was now in remission. PSA undetectable since 2022. Although everybody is different and react to treatment differently if offered give them a go.

  • Thanks I will adopt that strategy Grinning
