So after my first appointment with an Oncologist it has been suggested to also take Apalutamide along side the Prostap Jab. Anyone on here on the same medication after having the Prostate fully removed? Just curious how you have found them working together.
I'm having my second 3 month Jab on the 19th Jan then the wait until I have the next PSA Blood test in 3 months to see how its working. What worries me is that my last PSA was back in early Nov and that reading was 0-3 up from 0-2 six weeks earlier after surgery in August. Since then my latest PET Scan has picked up two more T's hench the treatment advise. Just worrying that there are more T's that have not been seen yet and having to wait the 3 months to maybe find out is going to be stressful.
I must say that this Forum has been very helpful since joining in lots of ways and I always feel very grateful to be able to hear from other members and there variation of the conditions that they find themselves in

Good Morning Lee (newtoallthis )
I can't answer your question myself and it's now lurking on page 2 so by me replying it will be "bumped up" back to the top of page 1 and I hope seen and replied to by someone with appropriate experience.
I ran a search of the Community to see if I could find anyone on the same medication who had their prostate removed but didn't find anyone (that's not to say we have people who haven't posted about it). The nearest I could find was this thread:
Apalutamide - A bit of a drama!
I hope this helps and you get some replies.
Best wishes - Brian.

Appreciate you looking Brian and certainly hope I don't have those kind of reactions after taking it!!
Good afternoon newtoallthis, Not on here very much but just checked in before. Just thought I’d let you know that my OH has been on Apalutamide for 16 months and is doing well. He has had very few side effects apart from a few aches and pains in joints and the flushes which could be from the zoladex 3 monthly. His PSA is practically undectable. I understand everyone is different but just thought I would chip in to let you know we haven’t had many issues regarding the Apalutamide. Hope this is helpful.
Majestic.
This is the medication that I have been on since Jan 2024 but without the prostate removal.
I am not aware of any side effects of the 3 monthly Prostap injection and I seem to be more fortunate than some in that the hot flushes are a feature but certainly not long lasting or debilitating. Not only that but they seem to be diminishing over time.
