Apalutamide - A bit of a drama!

Hi All
I have written on my profile about my Advanced Prostate Cancer journey which started early this year.
On April 30th I had my first consultation with my Ornothologist.
He proscribed Apalutomide to go alongside my 3 monthly Prostap injection.
He said that the normal proscription was 4 tablets a day.
But as it was a strong drug - I should only take 2 tablets a day

May 4th
Took my first dose of Apalutamide (Erleada®)
And what a drama!
I took it at 10.30am and started feeling very strange indeed
First thing I noticed was I suddenly had acute Tinitus - ringing in my ears.
Within an hour my vision was affected. My balance was completely distorted.
I tested my blood pressure and it had risen substantially
I was worried and decided to contact a Macmillan nurse online.
I explained what was going on and she immediately advised I stop taking the drug and call my doctor.
I rang the number on my documents - but they couldn't really advise
Suggested I rang 111
Spoke to 111 but the call line was terrible and wasn't much use
Symptoms worsened and blood pressure rising
So rang 111 and this time call was better.
They said important I got looked at and ordered an ambulance!
Bit of a shock
Paramedics arrived and tested blood pressure and everything else.
My heart rate and all other tests were perfectly normal
Agreed blood pressure was high
Had explained about taking Apalutamide for the first time
And showed then the paperwork with side effects etc
----------
In the end they said I should keep an eye on my blood pressure and ring again if it got much higher (can't remember to what level)
Relief didn't want to go into hospital
Over the next three days I completely rested. Each day as the drug wore off I could feel the effects wearing off

May 7th
Had lovely call from Ornithologist department who had had the records of what had happened
Will be having an other appointment soon.
Life is back to normal again

Has anyone else had a similar reaction?
