Hi !

Have had my meeting with my finnish doctor today and we’ve set up a plan as follows:

- Coming off Abiraterone in February 2026 ( 22 months )

- Taper off Prednisolone in 4-6 weeks

- Coming off Orgovyx in March / April 2026 ( 26 - 27 months )

- Monthly PSA tests for 6 months after coming off Orgovyx and then going back to 3 month testing again

Anyway, hopefully I will stay in remission for a very long time and so far, with a PSA of < 0.10 18 months since final radiation it looks more hopeful then when I went into my treatment I must say.

Best wishes - Ulf

  • Great result Ulf, fingers crossed.

    Best wishes, David

Please remember that I am not medically trained and the above are my personal views.

  • This is quite similar to my plan, I finish Abiraterone next month (24 months) and start tapering prednisolone for 2 months. I will come off Prostap in a year when I finish 36 months.

  • Hi !

They really go by the text book with you and that’s good to hear. Hopefully we both can enjoy the freedom of hormone therapy at one point. A suggestion from my part. Check the possibility of going over to Orgovyx (Relugolix) at one point. Not that they are better but from a Testosterone recovery they are much faster when stopping compared to agonists. Litterature shows 1-3 months of start of Testosterone recovery. Just a thought and perhaps something to discuss with your doctor / medical team

    Best wishes - Ulf

  • I've discussed this yesterday with my medical team and they support me moving to Orgovyx! Many thanks for the suggestions.

  • Hi Ulf,

You've  done really well to get to this point/favourable position considering the start You had in Sweden, without a doubt a great bit of self advocacy played a huge part in that.

    All the best going forward
