Hi my name is Peter

I was having treatment for an overactive bladder with prostate blood test as part of treatment which came back at 7.7.  I then had an ultrasound, GP said I had enlarged prostate but nothing of concern.  Has MRI scan as part of pathway which has revealed lesions on prostate rated 4 and 5.  Having a biopsy, no noted signs of other lesions throughout body. Notes 66.9% chance of prostate cancer and really worried and having bad anxiety and not sleeping, I have the constant peeing which I thought was my over active bladder no pain peeing small leaking and sometimes stop and start to finish,I've pretty much resigned myself to having prostate cancer and finding very tough to deal with like everyone with the horrible disease, any helpful advice would be much appreciated

Kind regards

Peter

  • Sorry to hear you're anxious, put it this way I got my results quicker when there was a problem.

    I hope all goes well

  • Hi Stew

Just really worried like most the pet scan could of picked up something sinister and obviously spreading to bones, just wish they would let me know when and what time call or meeting is coming all the uncertainty is definitely not helping.

    Thanks Stew

  • Just wondering Peter, do you use MyCare?

I often get results and letters on there, usually with a text.

  • Hi Stew. No I've never heard of it I'll have a look

  • Hello All

Many hospitals now use their own app - two of the popular ones are "My Care" and "My Chart" however not every NHS Trusts are in the 21st century.

The NHS App is a boon but only if you live in England and then it doesn't always work for everyone - and you need to request "full access" to get all your records online.

    Best wishes - Brian.

    Thanks

  • Good Evening Peter (

You could always give the Urology department at your hospital a ring - tell them you have scan-anxiety and see if they are any nearer to letting you know your results.

    Best wishes - Brian.
