I would be really interested to hear from others about this particular cancer. Ellie

  • Hi Ellie

I have read your background and am sorry to hear that you have pancreatic cancer. If you have any specific questions please do ask.

I wonder if you have found the Pancreatic Cancer UK website. It is very good and helpful. There are nurses you can contact by telephone.

    Hi Squeaky

Yes, I have found the Pancreatic Cancer UK website.  I have a lovely specialist nurse who rings me on a regular basis.

May I please ask what your story is? X

  • HI Ellie

I am here because my husband had pancreatic cancer. He was diagnosed in March 2015 and it was local so he was able to have surgery. However, it came back very quickly and he died in January 2016. There are a lot people here with different stories.

    Hi Squeaky

This will probably sound daft but I was relieved to finally receive my Pancreatic Cancer diagnosis.  I also have Manic Depression, now called Bipolar Disorder brought on by both physical and verbal abuse at the hands of my Mother.  My doctor put all my symptoms down to my Manic Depression and brought in the Crisis Team.  I fail to see how the dramatic change in my bowel habits, itchy skin, unexplained weight loss and loss of appetite had anything to do with my Mental Health.  I wonder if anyone else has had the same problem.  Why do the majority of doctors think they know your body much better than you do? I knew that there was something radically wrong as I hadn’t had a physical illness since I was 33.  I will be 62 at the end of May.  The delay in diagnosis has had serious repercussions as my primary cancer has spread.  I am fighting hard and will continue to do so but it is sometimes hard especially when I’m having a bad day
