Hello everyone,
Dad has been in hospital with sepsis this week less than 36 hours after having flu jab at pharmacy. His temp reached 40 degrees & he was rushed in by ambulance.
The pharmacist is a friend and well aware of Dad’s situation.
He is between chemo treatments as he was supposed to have a PICC line fitted this week so he could change regime, but I think tha5 will be postponed.
My question is, has anyone else had such a reaction (if indeed it was the flu jab which caused the sepsis) ?
btw he is back home and continues to take antibiotics - even though they couldn’t find the source of the infection and suggested it may have been viral - which suggests to me they think the flu jab was to blame too, though they wouldn’t say so.
Thankyou
mm
Hi Meg Mac
I am sorry to hear this. I don’t have any experience of this. However, my experience with my husband and PC is that things change in an instant. Three times he was admitted to hospital with an infection and the cause was never found. I’m no medic but maybe the PC and chemo makes people more liable to infections.
i hope he feels better and the new chemo regime can start.
