So, still getting used to all this NHL stuff and on 3 month W&W.

With all the hot weather recently and following a few business trips, should I be overly concerned by the extreme fatigue?

I ended up at my haematology dept Monday morning and nothing of note found, but am I alone in really struggling even now the heat has broken?

And, also, does anyone else have constantly icy cold sensation in their feet?

  • Hi  and a warm welcome to this corner of the Community although I am sorry to see you joining us.

I am Mike and I help out around our various Lymphoma groups.

For some context I was diagnosed way back in 1999 at 44 with a rare (8 in a million) incurable but treatable type of Cutaneous T-Cell NHL (a type of slow growing Low-grade non-Hodgkin lymphoma) …….

Eventually reaching Stage 4a in late 2013 when a second, also rare (4 in a million) type of aggressive Peripheral T-Cell NHL (a type of fast growing High-grade non-Hodgkin lymphoma) was then presenting so although my Lymphoma ‘type’ my be different I most definitely appreciate the challenges of this journey rather well.

I was basically on Active Monitoring (Watch and Wait) for 14 years (although I was having skin treatments) before I required full on treatments…….. and I continued to work for the first 12 years in a demanding Further Education teaching job and yes I had to push through the fatigue…… and it was worse during any hot weather.

When living on Active Monitoring our immune system is continually fighting our Lymphoma from developing…… then the normal rigours of life have their effect on us……. so at times we just get worn out.

Can’t help with the cold sensation in your feet.
