I have NHL T cell after my last infusion of chop which is my 4th now I was terribly sick even though I took ondensatron too. Also my large colon in which I have colonic diverticular seems like it's on fire and I'm in pain just wondered if anybody else had had this , I know it could be the chemo that's causing it to though I'm feeling so fed up now also on the filgastrin injections that make me ache:(

  • Hi again  sorry to hear about your challenges.

Chemo like CHOP can play havoc with our bodies…. I did not have any Colon issues but did have Kidney challenges as well as developing Helicobacter Pylori….. that was very challenging.

I was on G-CSF (Filgrastim) Injections for 4-5 days after my 6 cycles of R-EPOCH and daily for 4 months following my second Allograft Stem Cell Transplant.

These injections are designed to ‘wake up’ your bone marrow but unfortunately there are side effects like bad bone pain (my nurse called it bone marrow birthing pains).

Along with Morphine….. if I wanted to use it.…… I was also prescribed Paracetamol and Antihistamine to take 30mins before the injections as the Antihistamine bizarrely stopped most of the pain developing……. worth talking with your team about this as not a lot of hospitals do this.
