Hi,got diagnosed 8 weeks ago,on watch and wait, being checked every 3 months.its like the carm before the storm! Any idea's on how to cope with the wait?.
Hi Mis foxy,
I am really sorry to read about your diagnosis. Coping is really hard, especially in the early days when you will be going through so much shock. My best advice is to try to stay in the present as much as you can. I spent a lot of time early on trying to fast forward to some imagined future which ended up being completely wrong. Now I try my very best not to think about what if’s in the future but just focus on enjoying today for what it is - distraction (ie, immersing yourself in something active which you really enjoy) is also a top tip to stop your mind wandering when you don’t want it to.
Here’s hoping that you stay on watch and wait for a very long time.
All the best
Greg
