Hi All,

I was diagnosed with stage 2 Melanoma June 23 but then progressed to stage 3C August 23 had 2 lymph nodes removed & local wide incision with a year of immunotherapy. Only managed 4/9 treatments as body could not take anymore finished last treatment July 24. Have had clear scans up until May this year very small nodule on lung have to wait 3 months for next scan. Absolutely terrified can’t sleep on diazepam to help with the anxiety.

  • Hi lzzyd77 , i went through  roughly the same trauma as you. The immunotherapy wrecked my hormonal system and I wound up in the ICU. After that I was diagnosed as stage 4 with the scans indicating the cancer had spread from my chest  to both my lungs and brain. I was started on targeted therapy with oral Encorafenib and Binimetinib plus a cocktail of steroids and other drugs to deal with my lack of adrenaline. I've been on this for 18 months with a scan every 3 months. After the  last scan my Oncologists told me she could see no trace of cancer anywhere in my body. The drugs are no party ,both physically and mentally and I can expect to be on the same treatment for the future but tI'm very happy to stick with it. Hang on in there good things can and do happen

  • Hi Elbibi, thank you for the reply, it sounds awful what you have been through. The immunotherapy caused me colitis, arthritis, inflamed bowel, enlarged heart that’s why it was stopped as my pancreas was becoming damaged too. Was clear of disease for about 18 months but now this nodule on my lung. It’s just the waiting which is very difficult. But your message has made me feel a bit more positive and I thank you for that. I’m so happy for you that you are now disease free. I understand everything you’ve been through as it’s brutal. Sending love x
