Hello
I'm new here, I just wanted to share with others who have a partner who has had a melanoma cat 1b diagnoses. I check my partner once a month but am so worried I'll miss something as there are thousands of moles to check.
Jules
Hello Jules!
I am sharing the same diagnosis as your partner.
Since then I m feeling I m checking all little moles and over thinking, which I noticed Is not the most helpful thing to do.
After the diagnosis for you partner, was there a plan in place with the multidisciplinary doctors team?
Perhaps ask them to share what are the next steps in this process, because your partner will need regular check ups, to 3 or 6 months at the beginning for the first 2-3 years.
Stay optimistic and have hope that everything will be OK.
Wish you all the best for you and your partner.
Hi
Thank you so much for your reply, I agree remaining optimistic is a good call
My partner is covered in moles and at first my checks would take forever, now I get it done much quicker, i was just so worried I'd miss something initially but have settled into the monthly check routine now.
There are two checks in the first year and then once a year for the next 4 years.
We've bought all the gear now, every colour of UV tops, hats etc.
I wish you all the best in your journey and thank you again.
Jules
