Hi I had a mole removed from my stomach last Tuesday and I have an appointment to see the consultant on the 4th April to get the results. This means I now have just over 3 weeks to try and keep myself occupied. I am normally a very active person, I usually cycle 3 times a week, go to rock and roll dance classes twice a week and go to see a rock and roll band at least a couple of times a month. However because the mole was on my stomach I have been told I can't dance or cycle for at least 4 weeks and then take it easy for a couple of weeks after that. I managed a 10 minutes walk to day but apart from that I have spent the last 5 days sitting in a chair, reading, playing games on my tablet and watching TV and trying not to look up melanoma on Dr Google. So come on what things can I do to keep me occupied and not just knitting, jigsaws....The crazier the better. I may not be able to do them, but it will pass time reading about them, and they may also help other people in this situation.
I recently spent an interesting time researching the important events of my early years. Mine were the 1950s (adjust to suit you!) and I was surprised how interesting this was. The contrasts to the present were so many that I turned this into a long essay for the younger people of our extended family. There were so many small matters of profound change that I had forgotten about. Some of them were also of interest to others. Genuinely so I believe - not said to please me!!!
This predicament really does need it's its own forum as I've said before! The possibilities are endless and really could be helpful plus may be amusing to try during what is such an emotive time. I've scanxiety right now and will be at my alottment tomorrow whatever the weather either painting inside my little shed/ summerhouse or sawing my wooden post in readiness for my new bed edging. I've a small covered seat where I can boil water in my Kelly Kettle so tea and biscuits it is.
