So I’ve had my WLE on my right thigh just above my knee and it’s currently quite indented? Is this normal? Will it puff out again?
WLE -Wide local excision- is just doctor jargon for cutting out a cancer lesion.

Glad to hear they did a good job and twenty four years later, here you are!

I had a wle on my lower right leg for melonoma in situ , had it done 21stdec 2022, had my stitches out got a hole but it is scabbed over , anyone else experienced this, waiting in anticipation for results be around 8th feb2023, I am also worrying about my summer holidays this year that are booked in hot summer months what should I wear long trousers and dresses really worried a swim costume or a full cover up , please any advice to help with my worries
We went to the south of France a couple of weeks after I was diagnosed. I just stayed protected with spf, wide brim hat, costume, kaftan / linen shirt. Tried to get in the shade where possible and was just really careful in the sun. Just wear whatever you’ll feel comfortable in xxx
I'm just over a year after WLE and skin flap surgery and I still have a chunk missing from my lower leg, looks like a shark bite! I've got used to it but sometimes people do look a bit shocked when they see it! The scar looks kind of like a patch on my leg too. But I think it's quite cool in a way, shows what a clever bit of surgery it was.
Hi Karabee!
Yes everything is great, its summer! Working, sailing, riding bikes -life is good.
My melanoma remains stable AFAIK, as it has for a couple of years. I am off for body and brain scans in a couple of weeks though fingers (legs & arms) crossed my next meeting with the consultant will report the same once the scan results are confirmed.
Take care,
J

I had a wle on my thigh a year ago. There’s still an indent and, although I’ve used E45 cream virtually every day, there’s an obvious neat but red scar. However, I feel I’m very lucky so far and wear my scar and indent with a bit of attitude! I hope despite the physical legacy you are doing ok.
