Started my journey with melanoma in 2017, had wle, muscle behind right breast taken away and lymph nodes, all going wellish until October this year, scan showed nodes in my lungs and right arm pit, started on dabrafenib and trametinib, taken for a week, then I get a chest infection and have had to stop treatment, hopefully will be able to start back on treatment soon, Im wondering if there is any one here that is on the same journey,

  • Hi , I’m sorry that your back with us again, but welcome. There are a number of people on dab tram that I hope will pop in and say hello. My journey started back in July 2015 with a metastatic diagnosis, I was on Dabrafenib only, as dab tram was only on trial back then. I was on dab for 9 months before I was moved onto Pembro due to a further spread from groin nodes to ovary. The combo is meant to be a lot better, I hope you get over your chest infection soon, although Christmas of treatment in one way must be a nice thought.

    Best wishes

    Take care KT

Hi KTatHome, thank you for your rely, I hope your journey is going well for you, im unsure if not being on treatment over Christmas is a good thing or bad, must admit treatment all though only a week was a struggle, ill go by what my team tells me ,

best wishes hun and Merry Christmas xx

  • Hi madmomma, I’m doing ok at the moment although I’ve had a wobble during November, I’m back on track. We have to trust our teams so much don’t we, and talk ourselves round to things being good. For me a break in treatment brings about a bit of anxiety that I’m on pause but the melanoma might not be,  but the advantage of feeling normal, and the team weigh up everything when they advise us. When I started on Dabrafenib it worked very quickly for me and so I hope when you start back on it, it makes up for lost time, in the gentlest of ways.

    Merry Christmas to xx

    Take care KT
