anyone had pain in their face (like shooting) pain every now and then after mole removed on face. It was removed in August this year. Given the all clear. Now rushed through full scan. Worried sick. Thought it was just post op or nerve pain

  • Hi

My lesion wasn't on my face but on my arm and, although it was a little uncomfortable after it was removed, I don't remember having shooting pains.

I can see from your previous posts that your daughter had a mole removed from her face in March, which was unfortunately melanoma, so I'm wondering if this mole that was removed in August, and found not to be melanoma, is one that you've had removed.

Have you already had a scan or are you now waiting for one. I haven't had a scan but there are quite a few people on here who have and hopefully they'll be along to tell you more about it.

It's natural to be worried when you have unexplained pain but hopefully you won't have to wait too long to find out what's causing it.

  • Yes. Removed. It was melanoma. Had the wide cut and lymph node checked. All clear.   Seen nurse twice since. Keeps getting this pain now and again. Nurse said nothing to worry about but have scan anyway.  Come through in a week. Do you think they’re just being cautious

  • It was melanoma. Had the WLE and lymph node checked. All clear. Seen nurse twice. Started to get weird pain now and again. Nurse said nothing to worry about. But get scan anyway to make sure. It’s come through in a week.  So quick.   Do you think they are being cautious. Given the all clear 3 months ago

  • Oh I'm sorry to hear that after your daughter was discovered to have melanoma you were too. That must have been very hard for you to deal with.

It would be pointless of me to speculate why your scan has come through so quickly. It could be something as simple as they had a cancellation so you were offered the slot. Why don't you give your SCNS a call in the morning and tell her how worried you are about this.

  • Thank you.  Just can’t believe we’re going through this again.after getting all clear 3 months ago I can’t believe it can be anything sinister for her again.  She had a big chunk of her face and ear taken away. I’m hoping and praying it’s just nerves and blood vessels causing the pain as it heals. The nurse said it was early days.  But I’m sick with worry. Can’t stop shaking. Not eating feel sick and I’m even smoking which I never do.   Thanks for you support

  • Sorry, I think I've misunderstood what you've said.

Who has had a melanoma removed in August you or your daughter?

  • So sorry.  I’m all over the place.  My daughter.  Im

    so sorry I confused you

  • Ok, now I know what's what, lol. It's natural that your head's in a whirl as you're worried about your daughter. What date is her scan and do you know how quickly will she get her results?

When you have a minute it would be really useful if could pop something about your daughter's journey so far into your profile as it helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile'. Hi Raised hand

Just wanted to send big hug to help you through and fingers crossed for good results

Hubby Had lymph nodes removed from his groin which left him with a large area of scaring & said he had bit pain & felt some very weird sensations for weeks after . We just thought it was the body trying to reroute  everything after things being moved during operation .

    hope things settle down soon

  • Thank you so much. It’s not got any worse just sort of spasms now and again. I’m sure it’s post op stuff as there was absolutely no pain at all before the operation. They took a fair chunk of her face and ear away. Nurse said nothing to worry about but have a scan anyway.  But everything in this whole process has made me an absolute wreck.  Thank you again.
