hello everyone

i was diagnosed in December 18 with stage 2 melanoma

Iv had SNB and WLE

WLE was negative but 1MM melanoma was found on my lymph node from SNB

iv had a pet scan and I'm now anxiously awaiting my results on Monday. I'm so worried incase it has spread anywhere else.

Im 31 with a 7 yr old daughter and a very supportive husband fortunately as it's a really difficult time.

is there anyone else on here that's in the same situation or has been

positivity is welcome Blush

  • Hi

I'm sorry to hear that melanoma has been detected in your sentinel lymph node and I can completely understand how worried you must be feeling waiting for your PET scan results. Thankfully you only have another day before you find out and do come back and let us know how you get on.

There are quite a lot of people in this group who are Stage 3 and I'm sure some of them will be along to tell you how they're getting on. The good news is that since September 2018 NICE approved the use of adjuvant therapy for people with Stage 3 melanoma. Quite a few people in this group are currently having this treatment and you could use the search bar to look for previous posts on this topic or start a new post asking for people's experience with these drugs.

On a slightly different topic, how did you get on with your critical illness claim?

When you have a minute it would be really useful if could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

Thank you so much for your reply

I will pop the info on my profile thank you

In regards to my life insurance, it's still going through. My GP has had the documents 4 weeks and are not moving on it much.

Iv been pestering them but they are very slow.

Once the gp has completed the report it can then go back to aviva to be assessed. I'm hoping we should get a payout within the next month or so.

We are in the middle of moving house too so it's all a bit crazy at the minute.

    Xxx

  • We were in the middle of moving house when I was diagnosed with melanoma 2 and a half years ago. With hindsight it was a good thing as it meant I had vast tranches of time when I was concentrating on organising removers, etc and didn't have time to think about the melanoma.

Hope the house move goes well

  • Hi

    I hope you're well.

I was wondering if you'd had the result from your PET scan yet?
