So after seeing the surgeon on the 29th of Feb, I have now been given my date for surgery for the 6th of March, so only a short few days to go now. It will be a lobectomy using keyhole surgery, and lymp will be taken at the same time for pathology. I have been given so much information by the physio and surgeon as to what to expect and I feel reassured about it all. I would just like to ask if there are any words of wisdom and advice from others who have had this surgery, and if there's any helpful tips about post op that worked well for you ? Could you lay down in bed or better sleeping upright ? Getting dressed/undressed? Showering ? I'm about to get everything I think I will need for the hospital stay which I've been told is between 3 to 5 days, so really anything you think is a practical help would be good to hear about.
Aww no, I'm so sorry to hear that, you must be so disappointed. As you say, it's takes a lot to get your head in the right place for a big operation. Fingers crossed you get another date soon xx
Hi there, just want to say hope it’s all gone well with your surgery and hope your not too saw. I myself was in your shoes 4weeks ago and it is a journey no one wants to be on, but with all your family and friends and of course this amazing group who have give you so much information to help you. Just take each day at your own pace and you will be walking tall again. Good luck
OMG!! I m so sorry you must be devastated ! I cannot say anything to cheer you up as it’s so disappointing for you I feel bad for you . I had the same thing happen but mine was only for my biopsy all gowned and ready to go .The surgeon had gone home . Yours is much worse and a reason not given? Maybe he had an op not go as planned and took longer just think maybe it wasn’t t the plan for you that day ——not sure that helps let’s hope you get another appointment soon is it London you are looking at ?
I was inconsolable for a while after being told it was cancelled, there were two surgery's before mine and the surgeon had explained if they ran over then there was a chance he would not get around to mine. Fortunately I was contacted by his secretary this afternoon to ask if I could go back in on Sunday for surgery on Monday, so I've not had too much longer to wait on a second opportunity. I'm not London, I'm in Scotland. I'm not going to get my hopes up this time, just in case it's cancelled last minute again.
Sorry to hear that my friend, not a lot I can say to you other than keep your spirits up and stay strong.
Good luck for tomorrow. Hopefully you’ll be going in today and will be first on the list tomorrow morning . I have my fingers crossed for you.

Thank you so much, I am going into hospital today for 2pm, I won't know where I am on the list for surgery tomorrow, but I am hoping I will find that out later. I am feeling so anxious about it all, but I will just take some deep breaths while I can lol and trust in the process. I will most definately update on how it all goes. Positive thoughts and thanks for messaging me. X
