I'm at hospital tomorrow for a battery of tests to see if my COPD will cope with a liver transplant. I insisted my case was reviewed. They agreed to add me to the list if I pass the tests.

I'm due another TACE while I wait.

Merry Christmas to whoever reads this and a peaceful 2021

  • Hi

How did the tests go and when will you know if you've passed?

I hope you too have a good Christmas and 2021

Hi Latchbrook  .. I had the TASE but unfortunately they couldn't deliver the beads at the tumour so basically they missed. . They're repeating it in 4 weeks. I had quite a painful reaction.  The tests still haven't been completed.  Only the COPD  test so I'm assuming they'll do more when I'm in Edinburgh.

It's the waiting in isolation that's taking its toll .

  • Oh, that's a shame about the TASE . I'm hoping you won't have the same painful reaction when you have it again in 4 weeks.

It must be very hard if you're on your own at the moment. I'm fortunate to have my husband as company and we try and go out most days for a walk from our home to get some fresh air and see something different from our four walls.

We also Skype/Facetime our various friends which is great for conversation. We all sit there with cups of tea or coffee and it's almost like we're sitting at a table in a cafe with them. Do you have any friends or family you can talk to over the phone or via the internet?

  • My dad has COPD and HCC as well, they have just done CT chest scan to see how his condition is (COPD) so they can work out what treatment to give him. What treatment have you undergone so far? X
