I was diagnosed with a slow growing incidental finding, 2.5mm in november, having had a biopsy in September.the so and so has been monitored for a while after double mastectomy.
I had some tests to assess my eligibility for the operation and it's all clear to go.mainly it was due to my bmi however I have comorbidities from other conditions.ive been losing weight last 7 mths naturally which I'm proud of but need to keep going.
Basically my question is, I've not heard anything.i know I'm in the system.should I call? Should I wait? The 'not getting the ball rolling means it's on your mind more'.having read these blogs i know it's small.
Thanks for letting me put thoughts on paper.
I didn't know that robotic could be done if laparoscopic cannot be! I just assumed that my surgeon prefers to use the latest technology!! He did say that my lesion was in an easy place to remove. So I think it is just his preference for an even faster recovery chance. My gynae surgeon told me last autumn that since six months after my own hysterectomy, he too is now doing almost all of his surgeries robotically!!
You are wise to not go straight for the radical if they feel that some kidney can be preserved. Why lose 50% kidney function if you can safely lose just 20%, for example! On rare occasions I read that they have to convert to a radical but from what I've seen, this is rare. They usually seem to know from the onset if radical is a real possibility mid-surgery.
I am frustrated because my lifestyle changes from a few years ago haven't resulted in any weight loss! but I'm not stressing over it unduly. For all I know, some of it might be muscle weight, as I work my socks off in the shop hauling stock around and running up and down between customers and stockroom and shelves constantly during my shifts. BMI is apparently only a guide really. I can deal with this as a separate issue though once this surgery has healed, and I think I will do so - might need thyroid testing, as someone (Fleabane I think?) suggested, or else a serious chat with the elusive GP about what else I can do as I have reached the limit of healthy eating and exercising and there's almost nothing else I can cut down on or add onto respectively.
Hadn't thought about my profile! I see my photo automatically shows up - not sure why...maybe I signed into here two years ago when I had my hysterectomy...I don't recall now...the two dogs are mine of course, medium sized one is Mavroula and the big one in front is Phoebe. They are both Greek rescues (from Kalamata and from Evia, respectively) and have been with me around 7 years.
I will go and check out my profile...
I don't do ironing! Haven't done for years although ironically I love ironing! - it is very relaxing and I can watch TV whilst gliding the iron over my clothes. I have done lots of ironing over the years for other people - paid, or unpaid, depending on the circumstances - but can't be bothered to waste my precious life doing something that is going to be worn and creased again within hours or days!!! There's more to life than ironing...I can get the same relaxation for myself from sitting in the garden listening to the birdsong, for example!!
It's actually the only type of housework I actively enjoy!! I just don't see the point of doing it for myself when it's only me or the dogs who are going to see it! I have for years bought only clothes that need no ironing - work tops, trousers etc are non-iron and certain tops, I hang them out and smooth them out very carefully whilst wet to eliminate creases. Going on holiday, I wash and then when dry, roll my tops and dresses in my suitcase, which helps to eliminate creases.
Trouble is I love my linen and cotton clothes. I knowcthey crease but they still need to be ironed..lol
Thankfully hubby and boys have stuff that can be folded from the dryer
It was a nightmare when the boys were in school and hubby was working..15 ruddy collared shirts...arghhhh
Mine is good looking too!! I have a kind of face blindness which means that I don't recognise easily people I've only seen a handful of times and if they look different or are out of context...I used to really struggle when I met any of my Brownies out in town on a Saturday in their normal clothes as they looked different from when in their uniform in the church hall! I am completely foxed if somebody changes their hair style! I tend to recognise people in the distance by the way they walk, and closer up if it's someone I have only met occasionally, by the way they speak. My surgeon wore glasses each time I met him in the office, every 6 months. When he turned up pre-surgery and then again when I came out of surgery, each time I asked him if he was Mr Campain!!! and explained that I didn't recognise him without his glasses!!! I used to think this was something to do with being short sighted, as I have been myopic since about 9 years old but have always refused to wear glasses unless absolutely essential (reading the blackboard at school, driving, etc) but apparently there is actually a condition where people don't easily recognise features of faces. I have real difficulty in recognising photos of film stars, TV personalities etc unless I am seeing them every day on TV or they have very distinctive features in some way.
But yes, he is pretty good looking with or without glasses!!!
