Hi all new here, im darrol and im 36.
I was diagnosed with kidney cancer in September last year and had surgery in December. Has anyone had it where it has spread to there lungs looking for some advice if possible
Hiya sweety...yes mine spread to both lungs and adrenal gland after my nephrectomy. However, although advised it incurable it is treatable.
I am not on any treatments because the nodules are still small. Scans every 3 months.
Support has been very good and apart from fatigue I am doing ok
Hope that helps..
They did a chest ct and found atelectasis in both lower lobes and a nodule in the right upper lobe I don't have my urology appointment till the 25th of this month but like we all know the not knowing is the hardest part
Oh and also a 7mm heterogeneous at the surgical bed
Hi. I had an 8cm tumour left kidney. 21/6/24 removed. I have been told there is a very small nodule right lung. They tell me it's nothing to be concerned about but wasn't there before... I worry but nothing I can do. I'll wait my next CT scan and consultant appointment with the results. (5 year monitoring)
These are all new findings since my last ct in November I have atelectasis of both lower lobes aswell and a new 7mm heterogeneous found in the surgical bed which I can gather is the cancer back
Hi,
Slightly different scenario. Mine had spread to the lungs by the time it was diagnosed, so too late for surgery. Instead I had a 2.5 year treatment of immunotherapy and a trial vaccine for a year. Lung mets are no more and the original tumour has shrunk from 59 to 23 mm. I have regular scans (every 6 months) to monitor the situation. I was there yesterday, in fact!
Your youth should work in your favour. I was 52 when diagnosed in Nov 2021.
There's lots of treatment options for kidney cancer spread to the lungs. Lots of immunotherapy options usually.
Hi Darrolh1988,
I'm 56 and had a complete nephrosectomy in September 2024 and have been undergoing treatment with Pemrozuminab/Inlyta since January due to metastases in the lymph nodes. The last two CT scans from April and July showed a reduction in the size of the lymph nodes. The therapy is working, but handling the side effects of Inlyta is often a challenge.
Wish you all the best!
Hi im not new on here but returning, I was diognosed with chromophobe renal cell carcinoma in april 2023 after suffering with left flank pain & blood in urine, 2 doses of antibiotics & a visit to A&E & was told i had a 13cm mass on upper pole of left kidney, fast forward 5 weeks & i had op to remove my left kidney, no further treatment as all cancer was removed, i had a ct scan oct 23 then again oct 24, then in July 25 I went to A&E with pain in lower left side, tests & ct scan found a nodule on lower left lung ( nothing had shown up on my scan in oct 24) & no reason was found as to what my initial pain was, but due to this nodule appearing & my cancer history is was told I needed a scan in 3 months to check on the nodule ( neoplasm) the 3 month is up now & I've just had my yearly follow up ct scan for my kudney & this is also gor my chest xray follow up, im usually quite optimistic but just so worried this time round possibly more so because nothing like this had shown up on my scan in oct 24 so where had it come from? I have no symptoms as such but I didn't with my kidney cancer which I was told had been growing for years I just strayed to get tired easily which I've noticed it happening again, I know it could be nothing possibly from a chest infection or similar but I rarely get poorly & I've had no chest oribldms or coughs, anyone had similar situation?
Hi so i had a follow up scan 3 weeks ago awaiting results for that, i have had a swollen lymph node in my neck for 3 months now want sent to ent which they had a look and sent me staight for a ultra sound, which i had but no biopsy which came back as appears normal but no one is investigating as to why its been swollen for 3 months , i hope uour results are good news fingers crossed, evey little thing makes you worry its horrible im 37 with a wife and 2 kids
