Hi my name is Gary and I'm 49 years old. I was diagnosed with Kidney cancer in May 2018. My left kidney was removed but after checking my ct scan they found it had also spread to my bones. I started on a medical trial which was immunotherapy. In August 2018 I had to have a femoral nail in.my left leg due to the mets in my bones. The immunotherapy was going well without many side effects, but after 10 months it was no longer working, and started on Tivozanib. All had been well for the last two and a half years, but a recent ct scan showed this had also stopped working. I was just about to start on another medical trial, but then I was walking to the car and all of a sudden heard a massive cracking sound and the next thing I knew I was lying on the floor in tremendous pain. An ambulance was called and was in hospital for a week, as my left femur has fractured. I also need a detailed MRI scan as its possible my hip and pelvic bones have degraded and may need further surgery in Birmingham. Anyway I managed to begin the new trial and have just started on Evorlimus.
Hi welcome to the kidney cancer group tho so sorry to hear what you've been going thru.
Good luck with the new trial. Please let us know how you get on.
Sue
