Hi everyone,
My mum was diagnosed with kidney cancer a couple of weeks ago. There was some swollen lymph nodes in her armpit so she went for a biopsy to see if they was cancerous. However they advised that the lymph nodes where so small that they don't show any red flags for cancer, this made us full abit more positive!
we was suppose to go to the hospital Friday to discuss the biopsy and go over things however the hospital called today to cancel the meeting and said she will need another CT at the Guildford hospital.
(She has already had one which showed the cancer on her kidney but this one seems to be a more in depth one?)
They didnt say what this was for, has anyone had a similar experience? Do they need to do another CT scan before they decide on surgery? We just want to know what the treatment plan is going to be.
Hi Unknowntash,
I did have to have two scans before my surgery, I do not know someone else on this site might have not, my kidneys cancer was found when I had an ultrasound for something else, when I had my first scan the surgeon wanted another one to see what we were up against, hopefully your mum will have the other scan and they will decide what surgery she will have, good luck and someone else on this site might be able to tell you more.
