Hiv welcome to the kidney cancer forum.
You'd b better using "ask a nurse" but plse allow up to 2 days for them to reply.
I don't think having a cyst on your kidney necessarily means you have cancer especially if it's an avascular one, eg I've had a cyst on my liver for years, but it's not cancer - just one of those things that shows up on a scan. Your tests are all OK too, so nothing specific to indicate cancer per se.
Have you a date re seeing the urologist?
You'll feel much better once you have a treatment plan, whatever the outcome of seeing them is. Incidentally, having cancer isn't necessarily a death sentence - I've been living with mine for 16 years, courtesy of surgery and meds It's also a slow grower. compared with many other cancers n new treatments are being developed all the time.
Make a list of questions for the urologist n if you can take someone with you to note down the answers, to refer back to after the appointment.
Do let us know how you get on plse,
Sue
Thankyou..its all the symptoms that worry me..the flank pain the weight loss..dry mouth.stomach pain thus is what worsens it..sorry
Hi Robbin, I was diagnosed with kidney cancer only 6 weeks ago - my op is in a few weeks. Whilst going for the various scans I was told I also have a cyst on my other kidney - when I asked about iwas told it’s quite normal to have cysts at my age (49) & nothing to worry about . Hopefully they will get a diagnosis for you soon .
