Hi all,

hope you’re all finding your way these even stranger times!

I’ve been trying to find any info about what places like supermarkets are doing to priorities online deliveries for those (like us or our families in this group) that are having to stay indoors shielding?

i know Sainsbury’s are trying to do so -but only for their existing customers -which many of us may not be.

Thought this may be a useful thread for people to be able to keep checking back into with any useful info, links or tips they may have found -apologies if there’s already one on here but couldn’t see it in posts for March so please do let me know

thanks and take care all :-)

Think your first port of call is here,,, and fill in Get coronavirus support as an extremely vulnerable person.

What i would like to know is does anybody have Sainsbury's/tesco/asda/ email address ? As i don't have and wont have FB and the other ones, emails on sites don't work.

    Thanks Ray

  • Hi All,

I'm afraid I have no information regarding the supermarkets but am aware that there are lots of local voluntary groups providing support locally.  If you click the link here it will take you to a site to identify your local group.

When I clicked on any of the groups local to me it took me to the groups profile page on Facebook.  I am not on Facebook and have no intention of joining but at the righthand side of the profile page there were means of contacting the local group.

I hope that this is helpful.

  • Apparently Ocado are also prioritising their vulnerable customers. I registered with gov.uk several days back and sent an email on Friday. Got an automatic one back, saying they'd try n answer in 48 hours lol.

The address is  ocado@ocado.com, but it's probably only of use to existing customers...

Thanks guys that’s really helpful :-)

if you’re in the Nottingham area this article lists suppliers doing home deliveries (sorry having probs inserting a link on  the mobile version of the forums!-if it doesn’t work below it was on www.nottinghampost.com titled ‘These Nottingham shops will deliver if you can't get a supermarket delivery’ on 27.3.20)

    www.google.co.uk/.../nottingham-shops-deliver-you-cant-3985962.amp

i also got myself back on Facebook and depending on your area there appear to be lots of independent shops that are doing home deliveries too-just putting in a search for food delivery service brought them up

hope that helps-we’re still waiting to hear back after registering via the gov link but hopefully it will get up and running soon

    thanks
