Hello everyone,
My husband has prcc (an aggressive type of renal cancer that spreads) which spread to his lungs. He had kidney removed 3 years ago. He’s been on various meds (Cabo at the moment, sutinib and a spell with nivolumab).
the disease is progressing and we are both having a really hard time.
we’ve lived with this a long time and I really understand the stress of doc appointments and the not knowing.
id love to connect with othered caring and facing the future.
it all feels very bleak. Trying to take each day at a time but the feelings are all pretty overwhelming and he is really struggling with what’s going to happen as his health declines.
we had hope but I feel like we are losing that now and finding it hard to keep going with everything else.
thanks for reading. Sorry about the sad vibes.
I feel like we’ve had a load of experience so I can also be of help to others. Promise to be more upbeat!
thank you
Firstly thank you for your post. Really sorry to hear the difficulties your both facing. It sounds like you are both doing the best you can.
I see you are looking for others carers. Please see this link to the Carers only forum which is for those who are caring for others with a cancer diagnosis. You sound like you have a lot of experience of dealing with this situation and to share those experiences with others will hopefully help you to.
If there is any other support you feel your husband or you need, please let us know. We have many volunteers and staff who are friendly and very supportive. The helpline is also helpful, if you feel you need to speak to someone personally on the phone. The number is free to call and open 7 days a week till 8pm.
All the best, and we are here anytime.
