Two week ago I had my latest scan results - all fine, except a bit of inflammation in my bowel, had I ever been diagnosed with IBS? No.

Consultant decided I need a break from the Paz earlier than I'd originally planned for, while he had the scan reviewed in MDT meeting.
E-mail last week to say inflammation didn't look like cancer - great - hadn't really considered that it might have done, so that was a bit of a surprise that that was a possibility - and felt a bit naive really! Back in clinic today.

I fully expected to go back on Paz - I'm feeling great again and I've had this happen before. But no - I have to have a full gastric review and it could take up to 3 months and I have to be off Paz the whole time.

The risk is colitis - and a rupture in my small bowel - so I do understand how serious that is - no point treating cancer if you die from sepsis. Assuming everything is OK after that I'll probably go back on Paz but at 400 not 600 again.

So, for the next three months I at least get to eat well and have a few drinks for my son's 18th which is great. Also handy as my white cell count tends to be low - so a nice pick up just in time to ward of coronavirus ;-)

Knowing that has regular longer breaks and had the longest one ever makes me feel comfortable that 3 months off treatment isn't the end of the world and I'll be fine. But I've been plodding along so nicely for such a long time that this has really taken me by surprise. I wasn't even feeling rough when I had my last scan - just a wee bit tired.

Has anyone by any chance been diagnosed with IBD as a result of being on a TKI?
