Hello all, how are we all? Just wanted to know if anyone tried something or things that work for not feeling so exhausted and weak all the time.
for example energy snacks or ideas to help before bed etc... any recommendations would be great.
Hi @kbassan
iavender oil is good for relaxing, it's one of the few essential oils u can use directly on your skin. Or u can get sprays to use on your pillow.
Hot milk's good too.
Relaxation CDs- music and/or visualisation
Talking books
Hello @
Thank you so much, I’ve got some lavender spray and oils so I’m gonna start using that more.
Milk good too but always end up going toilet more during the night then.
how are you? X
Know what u mean re loo in night lol
I'm OK touchwood. Last lot of scan results (end of Jan) were excellent - everything had shrunk- after going back on meds in Oct after treatment break of 3.5 years. Long may it continue...
Hi
1) Give in to it, don't fight it - it makes tomorrow worse. Rest and start again the next day.
That literally is my top tip. My aunt gave it to me, it's against everything that I'd ever done in my life but it just works.
Allow yourself catnaps if you don't normally.
I add bananas to milk for extra energy and calories and also because they're a natural way to help lower BP.
Other than that - there's a chance that something else is off balance and that should be found in your blood tests. My thyroid is out, it's a fairly common Paz side effect. I'm now medicated for it, but it can still waiver sometimes and that makes a huge difference to me.
Hey thank you so much for your tips and advise, I’ve never thought of having a banana and milk together for extra energy. Will have to give that a go this week.
As for catnaps I had my first one today, which I haven’t done in ages.
Hope you are well? X
Hi again
I used talking books to make me have a rest, by lying on the bed to listen to them. If I fell asleep, it didn't matter, then if I didn't at least I'd rested. Win- win. The equivalent of a catnap for me.
Used to have a banana every day at tea break when I was at work. Got out of the habit when at home somehot. They keep going over ripe before I can eat them, even tho I only buy a couple.
Sue over ripe is perfect to blend with milk - just whizz them up. You can add in anything else you like too - the frozen bags of fruit are really good - or add a bit of honey.
I like bananas, but when recovering from my last operation, I was told not to have too many as they contain potassium.

Although your body needs potassium, having too much in your blood can be harmful. It can lead to serious heart problems. Having too much potassium in your body is called “hyperkalemia
