Hi all
I went to the doctors about 12 weeks ago with a pain in my chest, thought it was severe trapped wind as you do I was made an appointment for a ultra sound scan, wherthey found what they described as a small cyst, and referred to a urologist, where I had 2 ct scans with dye, it turns out to be a complex cyst Bosniac 3 about 7 cms on the outside of my kidney, it looked more like a brain to me , it was decided that a radical nephrectomy was the only option, which I took all in my stride, until now 3 weeks after the surgery, I am dealing with the pain, but what concerns me is a deep ridge under my skin where they took the kidney out is very hard and quite large, it is affecting me walking as it feels like a muscle tear on my hip, does this get better and go down in size, not that I should worry about that considering what I may have had, haven’t been told wether it’s benign or not that’s the news I will get on the 2nd of January ,

Hi
Welcome to the group. There are a few members who've had Bosniak cysts -incl the husband of sueCC
I hope by answering this n bumping it up, one of those will see it n reply.
Hi
congratulations on dealing with the operation. If you are concerned about anything post operation it is a good idea to seek medical advice either from your GP or your medical team.
It is possible that it could be healing scar tissue but could be any number of other things.
Take care and I hope you have a good Christmas.
Love and hugs.
Gragon xx
Thanks buttercup, I don’t think I’ll be much help to you Deb as my husband didn’t seem to have what you’re experiencing, could it be scar tissue or something like that, my husband had internal stitches, all he felt was a numb feeling where the muscles was cut. Could it possibly be a hernia? I think I’d do as Gragon says and ask the medical people just to be on the safe side.
let us know how you get on on the 2nd Jan and fingers crossed it’s good news x
Thank you sue cc, my surgeon said after the operation he didn’t cut my muscles, definitely not numb, could be possibly just down to not settling down yet but I will be asking them next week. When I went to the gp the nurse to have the staples out she took out the small
Incision staples it easily but the actual big cut she could only
get 3 out I had to be referred back to a&e by my doctor with a letter as the pain was horrendous after morphine codine and liquid paracetamol they managed to get them out after a three hours, that pain was worse than than anything I have experienced
Thank you buttercup for your reply and bumping up my thread x
