My Dad was recently diagnosed with RCC around 10 weeks ago and he keeps getting oral thrush. Apparently its a common symptom with rcc but its so bad he said it is the worst part if having cancer. His whole body aches and he cant eat or drink. He has it again, and the last onset took 4 weeks to completely clear up. His whole mouth and throat are white.
Has anyone else had this and what are you doing to control it?
Hi kaiser1984,
I've not had this with my RCC, nor do I know anyone who has.
Might be worth posting in " ask a nurse" or ringing the helpline on 0808 808 0000, 8am to 8pm, 7 days a week.
Plain bio yogurt's good for thrush btw and easy to swallow too
I had this as a side effects of Pazopanib and GP prescribed a mouthwash which cleared it up very quickly.
I was obviously lucky then
