Well I finally got my histology yesterday after waiting 3 months it's T1b grade 2 although she mentioned there was some necrosis which they don't like to see , i 'll have a scan on January 6 month scan then yearly after that which doesn't seem very often but maybe it's because I'm over 60?

  • Well done on finally getting your histology results

The amount of time between scans has not got anything to do with your age, but more to do with the staging/grade of your cancer.

Fear of the unknown is the worst thing. Once we know what we're facing, we find the strength to deal with it.

Thank you buttercup01 that's so reassuring it's just that someone who has the same results as me only he's grade 3 and only 40 has scans 3 monthly so I thought maybe an age thing Unamusedx

Meaning that they think so much radiation isn't good for someone older x

After my op I had six monthly for two years but I was PT3a grade 3 - so a considerably different histology - so not even 3 monthly and I was 44 at the time.

I have them 3 monthly now that I'm stage 4.

Your results sounds pretty positive - I'd be taking much hope from them Slight smile

    Ahh thank you Carol

I was just a bit unlucky with the positioning of it, not quite central so it had started to spread in to the fat. They thought they had a good margin but it must have already been travelling.

Lots of luck to you with your continued recovery
