Has anybody had a growth on their remaining adrenal gland? I had my other one removed at the time of my nephrectomy over 17 years ago, and am now on targeted chemo with Tivozanib.
I’ve got mets on both my adrenal glands. I had a right nephrectomy in 1995 but the adrenal gland wasn’t removed. The right gland is now encased in tumour and the endocrinologist thinks it’s unlikely to be working. The other one is working at the moment but I take hydrocortisone as a precaution. I don’t have any side effects from that.
My husband has mets on his right adrenal gland as well as nodules on his lungs and mets to a lymph node in his chest. He has received radiotherapy to the adrenal gland and it shrank a bit and is currently stable with no further treatment. However we believe he will eventually have to take more treatment. We’re almost 4 years since initial RCC diagnosis.
