Hi had a ct scan for something else and the scan person found no cancer anywere thwy looked bones uterus etc except they said said they say something that looked slightly worrying which say an enhancing lesion measuring 2.5cm is seen arising from the lateral cortex of the onter pole region ,slightly worrying for renal cell tumour.does this mean i definetly have kidney cancer ..how long am i going to live .i dont want to die ?.??
I know it’s a scary time and I’m sorry you have found yourself here but don’t let your thoughts get out of control!, I had a ten cm tumour which was removed on the 04/08/16 and I’ve been clear ever since!, lots of people have a full or partial removal and never have a reoccurrence!. I hope they don’t keep you waiting too long as I think the waiting is the worse part!!.
good luck Lisa...
Thank you could it be benin or are they always cancerous
Hi n welcome.
Think u need to post this on "Ask a nurse " or ring the helplne on 0808 808 0000 for more info.
Even IF you definitely have kidney cancer it doesn't mean you're going to die. There are plenty of us in this group who've been living with kidney cancer, including secondaries, for years- I'm coming up to 14 years since I had my kidney out for example. Surgery's usually the way of dealing with kidney cancer then there are numerous drug treatments available to keep it at bay and stop secondaries growing. These are being developed all the time. Kidney cancer is fortunately a slow grower compared to other cancers too.
Did the CT scan person tell u this (unlikely ) or have u got it from your GP? U could also ask the GP for more info.
Good luck n DON'T google!!
The info on this website or CRUK or the Kidney cancer UK website is much more reliable n up to date.
Re benign/cancerous,
Again u need to " Ask a nurse" - post the question in that group , listed under "cancer experiences" or ring the Helpline
