Hi all, my name is Craig, I am about to have my right kidney removed. I’ve been told it will be in April. I had a call from the hospital today, they want me to go for a chest CT scan tomorrow, I’m not really sure why this is being done, but I guess they may be checking to see if it has spread at all. It would be interesting to know if this is just standard procedure, I should have asked, I know. I’ve been told that the tumour is contained within the kidney, which is good. My understanding is that the tumour is likely to be cancerous, but because of where it’s located, a biopsy can’t be done, so there’s no alternative to surgery, and the whole kidney will need to be taken out. It’s been under active surveillance, and although it hasn’t grown much, if any, it has changed in appearance and nature, I think.
All the best to everyone
Craig
