Hi everyone
I’m using xylimelts at night but am finding that my gums are getting sore from where I’m sticking them. I’m trying to stick them mainly on a tooth but just wondered if anyone had any tips?
You are still getting RT and you will be sore
It's too early to be trying xylimelts. You need to wait till the sticky mucous goes, your mouth heals a bit and you are producing a little normal saliva.

Hi Jane. Try either Biotene or Oral 7 dry mouth gel. They work quite well although you might have to re-apply once during the night as the effect does wear off. I use them as I am unable to use Xylimelts since my last op as I have virtually no gums left to stick them to so had to find an alternative.

Hi I didn’t start using them until at least 2 months after treatment finished. Like Dani says we need the thick mucus to start to go and the thin mucus to return. I’m now over 6 years and still use 1/2 of one at bedtime. I used biotene gel during treatment.

I’m doing ok I think, I had a review with one of the nurses this morning and she’s now prescribed oralmorph to add in as needed alongside the paracetamol and ibuprofen I’m already taking. She suggested starting with 2.5ml and then building up. They’ll give me patches if I’m needing to use a lot. I’ve had a couple of doses today and it is making me feel a little bit nauseous but I’m hoping that will settle. I’ve now got 9 sessions left!
How do u feel in yourself week 4 soon passed

No chemo and I’m mostly keeping my spirits up, the fatigue isn’t too bad if I have a sleep before lunch then I can do stuff in the garden in the afternoon which really helps me.
