Not been on here for a few weeks as life has been busy. I've broken my own work limit rules and am re-setting this weekend.
Had my 3 monthly check a couple of weeks ago with my main consultant. He was happy and so was my slt. Voice a bit scratchy, but expected at the start of the school year as the vocal chords start up again. He gave me a really good explanation of how the impact of radiotherapy has affected lymph glands and ability to shake off colds.
I crossed over my cancer life and work life a little too. I did a talk on cancer and the support from mdt to 6th form health students. I had Ronnie (my mask) with me too. Part of it was filmed and played to the whole school the week after which was a bit strange. I also ran a coffee afternoon with y9 students making cappuccinos and staff and students donated cakes. Together we raised £275 gor MacMillan and are planning more. Our target is to raise enough to fund the forum for a day because I've told them how much it helped me.
It's been nice having life more or less back to normal so long as I keep stretching my jaw and neck brushing my teeth and drinking water. Only the odd food tantrum these days.
Keep hanging in there folks. It's the journey from hell, but there is a good life to be lived at the end of it.
Take care all,
Gill
Lovely to hear from you Gill. You’re right. It may not seem so but the treatment is just a blip in life. Life goes on as it ever did for me, which is such a good thing.

Hi Gil brilliant post and well done on the fund raising. Onwards and upwards as we say. Cancers just a blip in my life over 4 years now and over in Spain riding my bike and living my life. Treatments rough but we are the lucky ones we mostly get another run at it.
One life live it.
