Hi. Have been diagnosed with right tonsil cancer that’s also in lymph node. It’s a second cancer rather than a secondary to breast (2020). Last week had other tonsil out along with remaining bottom teeth (same op!). Trying to recover from that ready for 6/7wks radiotherapy starting on 3rd April but hard to eat with stitches in gum. Wound got infected despite following mouthwash etc to letter. Antibiotics doing a good job now.
Bit nervous about side effects of radiotherapy cos found this ‘prep’ for treatment v v painful & not sure can do this.
Everyone involved in my care so far has been brilliant.
Just popping up to say hello and welcome from another 66 year old. I'm glad you've found this forum - I found it so helpful when I was going through diagnosis and treatment. Good luck! Please let us know how you get on.
September 2022 aged 63 diagnosed with HPV associated SCC base of tongue T4 N2 M0. Chemo & radiotherapy for 6 weeks ending Nov 2022. Now over 3 years all clear. See my profile for longer story
