I have to use Duraphat 500 after radiotherapy and having very little saliva.
I've been getting Duraphat 500 via a prescription from my dentist as an NHS patient. No my dentist has decided all their NHS patients are to be dropped! How do people get Duraphat 500 without paying a fortune or have I just been very lucky and people do pay.
I'd be interested to know what people do.

If you have no access to an NHS dentist your GP is allowed to prescribe. My Welsh GP was fine with it but I had to press my English GP quite hard to give it.
Ask your GP but remember to stress that you no longer have an NHS dentist. If you have problems come back here and I can steer you in the right direction.

Here is a link to the Leeds hospital trust formulary.
Duraphat is green and there is an indication for HNC patients who have had radiotherapy. Copy that and take it to your GP and ask your CNS to send them a letter saying you need the toothpaste.
You might not have any problems, but just in case you do then you will be sufficiently armed.
